Indian Army Showcases Capabilities During Demonstrations in Rajasthan’s Desert

The Indian Army, on Monday (May 4, 2026), demonstrated its war-fighting capabilities focused on the borders with Pakistan in the Rajasthan desert.

The Golden Katar Division, under the Indian Army’s Southern Command, showcased how emerging technologies were being used to enhance situational awareness, decision-making, and operational efficiency in desert warfare conditions.

Indian Army’s Pune-Headquartered South Command General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain witnessed the demonstrations during a visit to forward areas in Rajasthan’s desert.

During the visit, the Golden Katar Division highlighted the continued focus on strengthening combat readiness in challenging terrains and as warfare scenarios evolve.

The Army Commander received a briefing on the Division’s efforts in adopting advanced technologies and integrating them into field operations.

A key focus of the military demonstration was refining tactics, techniques, and procedures through the use of modern systems, including surveillance, communication, and battlefield management tools.

“These efforts reflect a proactive approach to adapting to future conflicts, where technology-driven warfare is expected to play a crucial role,” a Golden Katar Division officer said.

The Army Commander appreciated the forward-looking approach and innovative practices aimed at improving combat capability, and stressed the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and coordination between traditional military skills and modern technology to maintain an edge on the battlefield.

He also reiterated the Indian Army’s commitment to provide optimal training, infrastructure, and resources for personnel deployed in operational areas.
