Army chief reviews Spear Corps readiness in northeast, highlights ‘VIJAY’ vision for future-ready force

New Delhi: General Dhiraj Seth, the chief of the Army staff, visited the Spear Corps (III Corps) to review the operational preparedness of the formation and to assess the evolving security environment in the northeast. During the visit, he was briefed on operational deployments, prevailing challenges and measures being implemented to further strengthen combat readiness in the strategically important region.
The Army chief also reviewed the initiatives taken by Spear Corps towards enhancing coordination between various agencies and improving operational effectiveness. He evaluated the efforts to sustain a high level of readiness and to respond to new security challenges in the region.
Gen Seth interacted with personnel of Army and Assam Rifles and appreciated their professionalism, dedication and commitment towards maintaining operational standards in difficult conditions. He exhorted the troops to be vigilant, agile and future ready to respond prevailing challenges
The COAS further reviewed community outreach programmes undertaken by the Spear Corps to promote peace, stability and development across the northeast. These initiatives form part of the Army’s continued engagement with local communities and efforts to strengthen cooperation in the region.
The visit was part of Gen Seth’s two-day assessment of Eastern Command formations, during which he also visited the Trishakti Corps (XXXIII Corps) and Bengdubi Military Station. At Trishakti Corps, he was briefed on operational deployments, surveillance systems, security dynamics and technology absorption initiatives aimed at improving combat capabilities and logistics support.
At Bengdubi Military Station, the COAS reviewed regional security arrangements and operational logistics to ensure sustained readiness of formations deployed along the eastern frontier.
During his interaction with commanders and troops, Gen Seth highlighted his vision of “VIJAY”, based on Vigilance, Innovation, Jointness, Atmanirbharta and Yodha First. He emphasized the need for a technologically advanced, self-reliant and integrated Army capable of meeting future security challenges while contributing to the national objective of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
The visit underlined the Army’s focus on maintaining combat readiness in strategically significant areas while combining operational preparedness with initiatives aimed at strengthening peace, stability and development in the northeast.
