New Delhi: Mumbai Police are examining videos capturing the moments around the shooting at actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Juhu on Sunday as investigators search for the attackers and scrutinize an unverified claim of responsibility linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The Maharashtra deputy chief minister, Eknath Shinde, visited Shroff at his home late that night, assuring the family of protection after the actor escaped gunshot wounds but suffered minor injuries.

The attack occurred at around 7pm as Shroff was leaving a football ground near Pushpa Narsee Park, according to police accounts. His driver and an autorickshaw driver nearby were injured, underscoring the danger to others in the crowded neighbourhood as gunmen targeted the vehicle.

The emerging video sequence offers a clearer account of the attack and its immediate aftermath. Media reported that the footage included Shroff moving into the driving seat after his driver was injured, taking control of the car following the firing.

Separate footage circulating online appears to show two men approaching the vehicle and firing at close range before escaping on a motorcycle with a third person. Another clip purportedly recorded before the shooting shows Shroff playing football and interacting with fans, although its timing and authenticity have not been independently established.

Images of two suspected attackers have also emerged from CCTV footage, according to The Indian Express, which reported that police found the motorcycle allegedly used in the attack outside Andheri railway station’s western side. Investigators suspect the assailants knew about Shroff’s Sunday football routine and may have surveyed the location beforehand, although that remains an investigative assessment.

Police have registered an FIR against three unidentified people under sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act, ANI reported. Fifteen teams drawn from the Mumbai crime branch and local police have been deployed to identify and trace those involved.

During Shinde’s visit to the family home, photographs showed Shroff with dressings on his chest and shoulder and a bandaged arm. His mother, Ayesha Shroff, was present as the deputy chief minister enquired about his condition and discussed the government’s response.

Shinde said five rounds had been fired and attributed the actor’s hand injuries to gunpowder and broken glass. That account clarifies earlier descriptions of Shroff escaping “unhurt”: he had avoided bullet wounds, but had nevertheless sustained injuries during the incident.

“No form of threat will be tolerated,” Shinde told reporters, saying the actor and his mother were shaken by the attack. He also invoked Mumbai’s history of gang violence in the 1990s and said the authorities would prevent criminal groups from intimidating people.

The Maharashtra chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, separately spoke to Shroff by telephone and assured him of support, according to the chief minister’s office. Fadnavis, who holds the home portfolio, directed the Mumbai police commissioner, Deven Bharti, to accelerate the investigation and apprehend the assailants.

A social media post claiming responsibility in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang is being examined, but police have not authenticated it. The claim therefore does not yet establish either the identity of those who ordered the shooting or its motive.

The attack has renewed concern within the film industry about security, with the All Indian Cine Workers Association criticizing the authorities and demanding stronger protection. The association cited earlier incidents, including firing outside Salman Khan’s residence and the stabbing of Saif Ali Khan, although those separate cases do not establish a common criminal link to the Shroff investigation.
