Army-backed Akhnoor Ignited Minds Initiative records 100% NEET 2026 success

Akhnoor, Jammu: An education initiative supported by the Indian Army has recorded a 100% success rate in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2026, with all 27 students enrolled under the Akhnoor Ignited Minds Initiative qualifying for India’s nationwide medical entrance examination.The programme is jointly supported by the Army’s Crossed Swords Division under the White Knight Corps, Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), and the National Integrated Education Development Organisation (NIEDO).
The initiative is aimed at helping academically promising students from economically disadvantaged families pursue higher education, particularly in medicine.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the initiative provides students with structured academic coaching, mentoring, career guidance and sustained motivational support to improve their chances of securing admission to medical colleges through NEET, one of India’s most competitive entrance examinations. Officials said the success of all 27 candidates reflected both the students’ commitment and the support extended through the programme. Many of the beneficiaries come from financially constrained backgrounds where access to quality coaching is often limited.
The Army said the initiative forms part of its broader civic outreach efforts in Jammu & Kashmir, where it has increasingly focused on education, skill development and youth engagement alongside its operational responsibilities. Such programmes are intended to expand educational opportunities, encourage career aspirations and strengthen ties with local communities.
AVNL, a defence public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, partnered with the initiative as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, while NIEDO contributed academic and educational support.
The White Knight Corps has over the years undertaken several community development projects across the Jammu region, including educational assistance, vocational training, infrastructure support and sports activities, particularly in remote and border areas. These initiatives are designed to complement government development programmes and create greater opportunities for local youth.
The successful candidates are expected to participate in the medical counselling process for admission to undergraduate medical courses across the country based on their NEET scores.
