New Delhi: The actor, Tiger Shroff, escaped unhurt after unidentified attackers opened fire at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday, police said. His driver and a bystander were reported injured in the shooting, which took place on Sunday evening and prompted a police investigation.

According to the Indian Express, the incident occurred near Pushpa Park, where Shroff had gone to play football. Police officials quoted by the newspaper said shots were fired at his vehicle, but the actor sustained no bullet injuries.

NDTV reported that three men travelling on a motorcycle carried out the attack. The injured driver and bystander were taken to hospital, according to NDTV Profit, although the initial reports did not establish the severity of their injuries.

The motive remained unconfirmed, with the initial police account identifying the attackers only as unidentified persons.

Separately, NDTV reported a purported claim of responsibility in an audio recording by a man identifying himself as Anil Pandit and claiming to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The speaker alleged that Shroff had disregarded the gang’s instructions and continued working with the actor, Salman Khan, while threatening others in the film industry associated with Khan.

The report did not establish that police had authenticated the recording or verified the speaker’s identity. The purported claim therefore remains an allegation, rather than a confirmed explanation for the shooting.

The reference to Khan recalls an earlier attack outside his home at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra on April 14, 2024, when two men on a motorcycle opened fire. Police subsequently alleged that the shooting was carried out on instructions from members of the Bishnoi crime syndicate.

In November 2025, a special court framed charges against five accused in that case, including attempted murder and offences under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act. That prosecution provides relevant background to the threats against Khan but does not establish who was responsible for the attack involving Shroff.
