New Delhi: The 16th edition of Aero India biennial airshow will be held at Air Force Station Yelahanka in Bengaluru from February 8 to 12, 2027, the Ministry of Defence announced on Wednesday. Online registration and exhibition-space booking for participating companies will open on September 3 through the official Aero India portal.
The five-day aerospace and defence exhibition is being organized by the ministry’s Department of Defence Production. It is expected to bring together Indian and foreign manufacturers, government delegations, military officials, technology companies, start-ups, investors and policy experts.
The programme will include an extensive exhibition, technology demonstrations and meetings between companies and government representatives, according to the ministry’s announcement. The Indian Air Force and international flying teams are also expected to conduct aerial displays during the event.
A dedicated online platform has been created to handle exhibitor registration, space allocation and services for participating companies and visitors. The government has not yet announced the participating countries, aircraft, aerobatic teams or the division of the programme between business and public days.
Aero India has evolved from a conventional airshow into an important marketplace for military aircraft, aerospace technologies, unmanned systems, weapons, sensors and aviation services. The event also provides a setting for bilateral meetings, industry partnerships, investment discussions and negotiations over joint development and production.
The previous edition, held at Yelahanka in February 2025, drew more than 150 overseas companies and defence ministers or representatives from about 30 countries. One of its principal attractions was the rare appearance of Russia’s Su-57 and the US-built F-35 Lightning II fifth-generation fighters at the same event.
For India, the 2027 exhibition will be closely linked to its effort to expand domestic defence manufacturing, attract technology partnerships and secure a larger place in global aerospace supply chains. It is also expected to give Indian private companies, public-sector manufacturers, micro, small and medium enterprises, and startups access to overseas customers and potential industrial partners.
The value of the event will ultimately depend on the quality of international participation and the number of proposals converted into firm contracts or sustained industrial partnerships. Details of the ministerial meetings, business forums and aircraft displays are expected to be released closer to the event.
